We are writers, producers, directors, and designers. Where There’s Smoke creates entertainment, brand & advertising content for multi-channels. We conceive, plan, write, direct & produce our projects. A strong background in branding, broadcast design, film and digital environments is met with extensive agency & big brand experience.
WTS are focused on developing inspirational content with-in the areas of youth, pop culture and lifestyle audiences. However, our experience extends far beyond these niches. We choose to work with energetic brands with a youthful approach to creativity. We work from a beach side studio on Sydney's northern beaches and provide our clients with intimate and relaxed environments for idea development.

Where There's Smoke recently delivered Channel [V]'s 2012 Channel Rebrand and Ident campaign. The iconic Australian music channel wanted to create something different. Something big. A homage to the artists that have made an impact on music...
FUTURE MUSIC FESTIVAL - Audio/Visual Displays
We teamed up with Channel [V] to create a series of crowd announcements for this years Future Music Festival. Displayed on the big screens between acts in front of a monster crowd, the surreal imagery was lapped up by the thirsty punters. Here's a small selection of the announcements.

RED BULLL - Scotty James NZ Spring Session
Join Aussie snowboarder, Scotty James, for a spring session at Snow Park in the stunning southern alps of New Zealand. Together with his coach, Ben Bright, and fellow snowboarder, Torah Bright, Scotty hones his skills in preparation for a successful 2012 and, ultimately, the 2014 Olympic Games in Russia. Check out Scotty's incredible 'air awareness' as he displays his form on the half pipe.

Rihanna invaded Channel [V] this summer assuming control of the music station for 24 hours of programming courtesy of Optus Australia. Complete campaign deliverables consisted of multiple Invasion Day on air promos and complete on screen re-badged graphic assets. With the idea being conceived in-house at Channel [V], Where There's Smoke was tasked with creating the deserted landscape as the Invasion approached.

Channel [v] Australia's brand new flag ship music television show for 2011. The Riff, a weekly one hour show is the source of what's happening in the world of music and puts you in the drivers seat of all things pop culture. The 1 hr show was created as raw conversational panel style execution. Hoping to get back to the good old days of music television. Where There's Smoke created the shows opening titles and on screen graphics assets. The Riff is presented by Channel [v]'s stable of presenters - Jane Gazzo, Billy Russell, Danny Clayton and Kyle linahan. Saturday mornings on Channel [v]. Sparks fly.

Where There's Smoke worked with [V]'s creative team to deliver the animated title sequence for their newest campaign. Along with re-badged on-screen assets and broadcast elements.

Each weeknight, Australia's most recognisable skater, Corbin Harris, will meet some of action sports' most influential athletes and delve into the art, fashion and music that define all that is pop culture.

For the last 4 years Sydney has played host to one of the most significant events in Australian Skateboarding. This event sees the biggest names in the industry converge on Bondi Beach. A beach side town known for its contradictory appeal of urban bohemia and beach culture. Famous for its sun bathed woman, parties and celebrities. To the outsider this is just a days sporting event perched on the hill of Australia's most iconic beach. To us this is Skateboarding.

We think its a pretty neat brand pack consisting of Opening Show Titles, Bumpers, Transitions & Channel Promos.

The crazyiest ride we've ever been on. Two weeks on a bus, Sydney to Byron on a post counter culture hippy trip. Packed with Insight's Pro Surf and Skate team on a road trip to Splendor In The Grass festival. Parked back stage, invaded by a multitude of bands. Wild, wild times.

5 bands, one train, 4 cities. One hell of a ride. What's being stuck on a rickety old heritage listed train for 4 days, accompanied by off the rails Rockstar's and soaking up the finest of Bacardi refreshments. Its pretty dam sweet, if we say so ourselves.

INSIGHT - Dopamine

Biochemistry; a compound which exists in the body as a euphoric neurotransmitter, it is naturally produced by the brain to create happiness, heightened energy, pleasure and pain. Origin; from dop(a) + amine (a related substance) Release: When you are attracted to someone your brain releases the drug dopamine giving the same reaction that one gets from thrill seeking, sex, music, humanitarianism, surfing and skating to name a few. Behind all these lurks a brain chemical called dopamine. WTS are back in bed with our friend at Insight – this time on our 4th adventure together - Dopamine. Insight's newest global campaign. WTS produced 2 films / Television Specials.

The campaign idea is executed by playful vignettes; the treatment is inspired by 60's counter culture – I suppose it's our modern summer of love. WTS conceived & executed the campaign end-to-end and completely in-house. The finished broadcast campaign package consists of 30 individual assets.
